Why do camels wear fur?

A camel's thick coat reflects sun light. A shaved camel has to sweat 50% more to avoid overheating! It may be that camels (dromedary) adapted for hot deserts have fur that provides shade and good air flow, creating a better micro climate near the skin. Bactrian camels have two layers of thick fur and survive extremes of temperature.
